The BM153 and BM153F openers allow the opening of scrap of quilted products and virgin polyester fibre to be used as lling material for cushions and pillows, respectively.
The material to be processed is loaded onto a conveyor belt at the inlet of the machine and conveyed to the carding unit for opening. This consists of a gasketed cylinder unit with a rigid cover which, through the carding action produced by the cylinders themselves, opens the polyester tufts or the waste quilted material. The speed of the cylinders is controlled by an inverter so that it can be adjusted according to the type of fibre to be opened and the desired degree of opening.
